General Information
What is family day care?
Family day care is an approved form of child care provided in a registered educator's home. It offers a warm, home-like environment with smaller group sizes, perfect for children who thrive with more individual attention.
What ages of children do you accept?
We care for children aged babies- school aged, and we also offer before and after school care for school-aged children.
What are your hours of operation?
Our typical office hours are 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Each educator has their own hours they set and flexible arrangements can be made depending on your needs.
Where are you located?
Our principal office is located in Werribee. Our educators are located across Victoria. Please contact us to ensure we service your area
Are you approved and registered?
Yes, we are fully registered with the Department of Education and operate under the National Quality Framework. Our educator holds all relevant qualifications and certifications.
Enrolment & Fees
How do I enrol my child?
Simply contact us to book a tour/orientation at your selected educator and we’ll guide you through the enrolment process. Spots are limited, so early inquiry is recommended.
What are your fees? Are there minimum hours?
Each educator sets their own hourly rate and minimum booking hours. An admin levy is added on top of the educator’s fee. Rates and minimums may vary between educators.
Are Child Care Subsidies (CCS) available?
Yes! We are CCS-approved, which means eligible families can access government subsidies to reduce out-of-pocket fees.
Is there a bond, deposit or enrolment fee?
No, there is no bond, deposit or enrolment start up fee. There may be a $200 bond taken upon choice by your educator if you are a new family commencing.
Daily Routine & Learning
What does a typical day look like?
Each educators day includes a mix of indoor and outdoor play, storytelling, creative arts, music, meals, rest time, and guided learning experiences based on each child’s interests and developmental stage.
Do you follow a curriculum?
Educators will follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to support children’s learning through play, exploration, and positive relationships.
Are meals and snacks provided?
Depending on your chosen educator parents are asked to pack meals and snacks for children and on rare occasion educators do provide nutritious, home cooked meals and snacks.
Health & Safety
What is your sick child policy?
Children who are unwell (fever, vomiting, contagious conditions) must stay home to protect the health of others. We’ll notify you immediately if your child becomes sick while in care.
What safety measures do you have in place?
Each educators home is childproofed and adheres to all safety regulations. We conduct regular safety checks and have emergency plans in place. All educators are required to undergo their 3 yearly police checks, yearly child protection training, Yearly CPR certificate.
Are you trained in first aid and CPR?
Yes, all educators holds current certifications in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management.
What happens in case of an emergency?
In an emergency, we follow our approved emergency management plan and immediately notify parents and the appropriate authorities as needed.
Parent Involvement & Communication
How do you communicate with parents?
Each educator is different in their communication. But we provide daily updates through messages, parental portal including photos, meal info, activities, and any concerns or achievements.
Can I visit before enrolling?
Absolutely! We encourage families to book a tour to meet the educator, view the environment, and ask any questions in person.
Child Safe Environment
How do the educators set a child safe environment for children?
Our educators priorities the safety, well-being, and protection of children by implementing policies, procedures, and practices to prevent abuse, neglect, and harm. Children are vulnerable and need protection from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. A safe environment ensures they can learn, grow, and thrive without fear or danger.
Are background checks required?
Yes, all educators undergo background checks (e.g., police checks, valid working with children checks) before beginning their role. All family members who are 18 and over complete these background checks also with valid police checks and Working with children checks. These are closely monitored and renewed often.
